Epub export crashes indesign

I think I’m going insane!! Every time I try to export my book to Epub from Indesign, it crashes. I’ve tried starting a new document and copying my text one chapter at a time. It exports fine that way, but if I grab all the text, it crashes. I’ve also exported half of the book at a time, and that works. It’s just when it’s all together that it crashes. Have tried in an older version of Indesign as well and it didn’t work there either.

I don’t really have anything different going on in this book compared to others I’ve done. And I got rid of some of the Dingbat fonts I was using to see if that was causing the error. No luck. It’s not like the book is that long– it’s only 60 pages 8.5×5.5. I’ve exported much longer books just fine.

Anyone have a clue as to why I’m dealing with this issue? I guess I could just export each chapter separately, but is there a way to combine them all into one whole Epub book outside of Indesign? What happens to the TOC then?

      Hey Bryana,

Did you ever figure out what was causing your export crash issue?

considering your book was only 60 pages, I probably would have made a copy and started deleting chapters from the back to the front to see if I could narrow down from what chapter the issue was coming from, then start deleting chunks of that chapter to narrow down where in the chapter it was. Sometimes the oddest things will set off InDesign.
