      Hello,

I am trying to create a “personal info page” for a group of people using InDesign. I have a table of information on on the Master Page, which is the same for all people (like name, surname etc.) and I would like to add, on every person’s page, his own information.

How can I type text, on documnet pages, in the table that belongs to the Master Page?

If I do Ctrl+Shift click, it puts the text in, but it overrides the table properties (which I would like to keep as Master, so that if I change them, they will apply to all personal pages).

Thank you very much in advance!

You have to make 2 seperate tables on the masterpage. One with the similar text, and one that changes. Then you only release the one you put the name ect. in.

      Thank you so much!

On the Master Page I had defined the font size, color etc. (entered the info of one person and then deleted it, just to keep the font properties).
But when I insert the info on the page (I copy and past existing info), some of it gets lost (and when it’s many, it’s a lot of time to fix each separately).

Could you please advise me on this?

Is it necessary to create a character (paragraph?) style for each kinf of text I need?
Does it make a difference here?

      Another question:

The table I made for the varying info, if I actually override it in order to type in, gets “disconnected” from its Master.

Let’s say I want to modify margins/column size, which affect the text-table – these change won’t apply to the text-table, because it’s overridden.

Is there a way to make a Basic “form”, which can be modified if necessary from the Masterpage and affect all pages, while each document-page will have it’s own info in the table?

I’m sorry, I’m a pretty basic user of InDesign but would love to – and need it! – learn it better.

      I really appreciate your help.
