      doh! I didn't realize that KBSC were in the same place as my prefs. I saved this from an article by AMC and will do exactly as she does:

      Keep a copy of my healthy, customized Version 6.0 folder (renamed My Version 6.0 – backup) at the same level as the real one, so I always know where to find my healthy prefs.
