      Hi there,

All of a sudden some time ago, I discovered that the keyboard command to duplicate a selected item (Shift-Option-Command-D) no longer works for me. I now have to use the menu, or copy/paste, both of which feel clunky after having done it with the keyboard for so long

Anway…any idea why the keyboard command would suddenly not work anymore, and is there a way to fix it?

      Thanks!

Maybe you can assign another keyboard shortcuts to this?

Shortcuts work differently in different sections of a document. go into the Edit menu and click Keyboard Shortcuts. From here you can find duplicate in the Product Area:Edit Menu. Check that the Default: shows Shift+Cmd+Opt+D. If not you can create the new shortcut in a Default Context:.

I've had somewhat of an issue with this myself, though instead of shortcuts failing to do what they are suppose to do they had somehow been assigned to something else.

Thanks folks! I was able to change the keyboard command, though the “default” command WAS listed in the default set, so I don’t know why it won’t work. No matter…I assigned Control-D which is fewer fingers and works like a charm.

      Thanks again!
