I need to find out how to have page numbering so that is page number is done twice. Eg. 001, 001, 002, 002 etc.

It's for an invoice book. I thought that it would be easy to do but I'm stumped. I've fiddled around in master pages making 2 masters and on the second master putting a marker as 'prevoius page'–that didn't work. Played around with section markers–that didn't work.

Am i missing the obvious?? Please help

I don’t think it is possible to have more than one page 001 by using page numbering.

Perhaps it would be easier if you used numbered lists with two different sequences of numbers “interleaved” (ie., list A on the odd pages and list B on the even pages) and each showing only one item per page. (I’m not sure if my description makes sense.)

Mind you, it could be fiddly to set up — perhaps so much so that it is not worth the effort — I’ve not actually tried it.

Yes thanks. I was trying to avoid that type of fiddly workand thought that perhaps it could be done easily somehow. Maybe there's a script floating around somewhere…

      Thanks anyway!

Personal i would try making a 3 page master (original, copy, accounting copy… materes on the format you are planning) with no facing page. each one with a numbered list for each one of the pages (like Furry said). This way it will save you the time of a plying master pages. then make each spread 3 pages. This is still a long way but it would save more time, since it would have less mistakes in it, due to applying the wrong master page once you start falling a sleep at the boring repetitive work.

Tell me if this helps any??

Yes thank you. I seems that this is the way to go.

      Thank you

The next/previous page marker works if the two frames are linked together on the master. Helpful to know if you're ever working on a book with both page numbers on one page “002-003”.

Make a text box on each of the facing pages and link them together. On the left hand side, put the current page number, then a frame break, then the previous page number marker in the box on the right hand page. If you don't want exclusively even-numbered pages, you would then have to number your spreads by hand in the pages panel, and that's probably pretty easy with a script. You'd also need to turn off spread and page shuffling in the pages panel.

Now that sounds like an option. I'll try that. Thank you.
