      Hey all,

      Apologies for being off-topic, but I feel this is a group that can answer this question. Is anyone seeing their direct mail pieces taking longer to deliver than before?

      I did a slim-jim (6 x 10.5 mini-catalog) for May. Mailed on April 23rd out of Chicago, and there’s still many people who’ve yet to receive it, today, May 14th.

      Our printer has shown us that they delivered the pieces to the bulk-mail center on April 22nd as promised, and aren’t aware of any delays. But none the less, the bosses are quite pissed, and I have no explanation.

      Again, I know this isn’t InD related (other than the fact that I used InD to layout the piece), but I know many of you are knowledgeable and active in direct mailing, so just looking to see if anyone else is experiencing similar issues.

      Sean – the postal service has closed several hubs that used to sort direct mail. There are only regional sorts now. This has added a few days to a week to our mailings as well.
