      Hi guys,

Appreciate if you can tap a help on this. I have this DIN fonts use for the magazine I design. However, my designer’s Imac is having problem reading it. At first, I thought it is probably fonts duplication, so I delete all DIN fonts on her fontbook but the problem occurs again. My system DIN is a postscript type 1 outline font. Is that a problem?

I’m not a font whiz but not all font formats are cross-platform. It’s very possible that Postscript Type 1 is not supported on a mac. A solution would be to convert it to OpenType. format.

Thank you Ari S. I will try your method.

In order to use a font cross-platform, it HAS to be Open Type. A solution is to get (buy) the font for the alternate platform, if you don’t have it for Mac.

Postscript type 1 is readable on macs – we use this old format quite regularly. There maybe font cache problems on her mac, something like Fontnuke may sort this out. You could try dropping the font (Postscript type 1 fonts will have a screen and a printer font) straight into the system library. ~/Library/Fonts
