      I know you can produce an app based magazine for the ipad easy enough in CS6 but can you use the same files to compile an online version as well?

      No, you can’t. The SWF/PDF kinds of effects you’d use in a browser are different beasts than the Folio Overlays you use in an app magazine.

      One solution might be to convert the mag to HTML5 with layout, using the In5 plugin:

      That resulting HTML file can be made into an app, I think, with one of the Adobe Edge products.

      Adobe has:

      • talked about an online version of their DPS solution
      • discussed how to do it on this page and others
      • explained how it is only available for Professional and Enterprise accounts. Sigh.
      • You can also set up social sharing (so someone can tap a button on the iPad version, share it on facebook or twitter, then others can tap that link and see the article (limited) in a web browser, with a link to get the whole issue for tablet.
