Does anyone have a template of a diagonal grid for text in InDesign? Many thanks!

      Hi.

You can use direct selection tool /tools (a) – to make a previous diagonal frames.

      this requires advance planning

leave the frames at the desired size and slope, create master pages and insert the texts.
Preset frames can replace diagonal grids

I’m not sure what you mean by “diagonal grid.” Do you have examples you can share?

For example, a poster or flyer that has text aligned on an angle – diagonally up/down the page rather than horizontal/vertical. You can’t drag out diagonal guides in InDesign so you might not rotate your text boxes perfectly. In that sense, it would be nice to have even a document grid that shows diagonal boxes? I had an example to attach, but can’t find a way to add an image to this post.

Not sure if this link will show the Jazz poster or not: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/781585710313684432/?lp=true

Ah! Interesting. I’ve never seen a template for something like that. One idea is to create the page normally, and then select everything and rotate it to the angle you want.

Actually – that’s a great idea and should work well. We will be giving that a try in my classroom. Thanks.

One thing that Calamus had years ago, were not only horizontal or vertical guidelines, but also guidelines that could be diagonal or circles: https://www.calamus.net/modules/gli.php
