Deleting word leaves two blank spaces

      When I select a word and delete it, it leaves two blank spaces (the one before and the one after the deleted word). This is new and doesn’t seem to be an issue with colleagues using the same InD version on the same MacOS.

      I’ve got the latest version of InD (2022) on the Mac (Big Sur).

      Perhaps unrelated, all of my InD software has British spelling (so in the preferences under spelling, it shows “capitalised” rather than “capitalized”.

      strange! Smart cut and paste is working normally in my InDesign 2022. Have you tried rebuilding your preferences?

      Anne-Marie, again, for the win!

      Yup deleting my preferences did the trick.

      Now for the next hour of rebuilding them!
