Hello, I have a specific question regarding object and line styles. Every time I draw a line in a certain document it comes with a fat white stroke, a drop shadow and text wrap. I just want a simple .25 black line. Any idea how I stop it from doing this? Making me batty! All other docs are fine. Using the latest version of InDesign. And also, any tips on setting tool defaults. I tried setting the line tool to .25 black stroke with no documents open but all new documents give me an invisible line with no fill or stroke.

      thanks in advance

Have you checked to ensure that there is no object style being applied when you draw a new line?
Also worth checking the STROKE setting in the default object style

Thank you Mike. You are right. When I click on the line tool the object style I use for picture frames is selected. How do I stop that happening? I have now worked out how to make the default line on new docs be .25 plain black line but I can’t see a way to change the line on the main documemt I work on. I keep having to deselect the object style to get the line I need. Thank you :)
