First of all, i’m new on this forum and i hope i’m posting this in the right topic.
I’m doing this catalogue project for a client of mine and i’ve mostly been working with the data merge system.
My client made this excel list (in the way i asked him to do it) and this is working great but recently i read
if you put the base of your merge system on your master page, your txt file keeps a link. Before this i was
working with a “base” file and i merge into a new file everytime. So when i put the base of my merge on the
master page it would save me a step or two.
It works perfect with all my files but one, when i update my data merge file it just deletes a text frame on all of my pages … not even the one i made an adjustment to
in my txt file.
Ik hope my explanation is clear enough for you guys to understand.
Anybody has an idea what the problem could be?
I assume you cant post screenshots on here? It would be much easier to explain :)
