Hello,
I'm using the CS5 trial to test adding pdf'ed policy docs on 8.5″ pages to the end of a guide with 11 x 8.5″ pages. After I had added the new master page, when I exported to pdf to test, I got an error “This file appears to use a new format that this version of Acrobat does not support. . .” I'm using Acrobat Pro 8 (no trial of 9 for Mac). The document opens but the text from the placed pdf docs appears only as dots, no readable text. The same is true if I open it in Acrobat Reader 9. 8.5 x 11 pages with normal text appear just fine. I can export fine from CS4, but the policy pages, though entirely legible, are converted back to 11 x 8.5.
Any ideas for whether I should just do this my old way–do the guide in ID then add the policy pages and links to them once the doc is exported to Acrobat–or if, once I've got Acrobat 9 there won't be a problem? Or ideas for better ways to do this in general?
Also, the guide is for users who may well not have–or have the ability to download–Reader 9, or even possibly 8.
Thanks,
Jennifer
