OS X Lion is out. I just poked around on a few sites, trying to see on adobe.com or elsewhere if there was any mention of compatibility problems. Couldn't really find any. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with Lion and CS? Not that I'm anxious to upgrade right away, but would like to be prepared.

Excellent question! I haven't installed it myself yet (I tend to be slow on these kinds of upgrades). However, Adobe has released a list of known problems, and it doesn't list any specific issues with InDesign:

That said, of course Adobe won't take advantage of some of Lion's new features (auto backup, versions, etc.) until some future version.

Thanks, David. This is a really helpful document. Looks like Flash related products have the most kinks.

Hi. I have found a problem that I can't find an answer to:

In Indesign CS5 7.0.4 (and all other apps), when I zoom in using CMD+ the Dashboard Widgets Dock slides in.

Think it is an OS bug as the CMD+ shortcut (to zoom in a webpage) was working in Safari this morning but now it brings up the Widgets Dock.

      Anyone else seen this?

      Cheers

Update: A restart has fixed it. I will keep an eye on it.

Here's another good article that discusses some of the issues involved for InDesign users upgrading to Lion:

Sounds like InDesign CS2 and earlier definitely won't work any longer. And Crash Reporter won't kick in for 10-15 minutes after a crash of InDesign CS5. Wacky!

A correction about the problems with Flash and Lion was published yesterday.

One little issue I've come up against is that under Lion Command + Option + Q is the OS shortcut to close an app and not save its previous window info. This breaks the indesign shortcut which used the same keystrokes to return all selected text tracking to normal. I assume there must be a way around this as I quite like that ID shortcut but alas my feeble brain can't find it!
