In CS4 there was an option to use “optimized” or “original” images. While the optimization options have definitely improved in CS5.5, I've kind of gotten used to controlling the images myself. Do I still have that “original” option anywhere?

I guess I could just replace the images folder, but all the links in the html documents have “_fmt” added to the filename. And why do they use “jpeg” instead of “jpg”?

No, the “original” option isn't there anymore. I'm not privy to exactly why they removed it, but my guess is that many more people used it by mistake than took the time to optimize their original images (scaling, cropping, etc.).

It's not as plug-and play, but after you optimize your original images (and before you replace the ones in the EPUB's images folder), you can easily use Bridge's Batch Rename function to rename them with _fmt after it and replace the jpeg extension with jpg.
