CS5.5 Export book to PDF results in wrong page numbers

      When I export book to PDF (from the book panel), the resulting PDF has messed up page numbers. Not the PDF page numbers, but the actual automatic page number from my InDesign master pages. Everything looks good in InDesign, but the PDF will have (for example) 149, 150, 149, 152, 149, 154… or different inconsistent variations of wrong page numbers. If I export just the individual documents all is well.

      I have tried exporting every single document to idml and then opening in InDesign, creating a new book, and I still have the problem. This morning I installed the 7.5.1 update, and still the crazy page numbering!

      Now that I'm aware of it, I guess I can work around by exporting each document separately, but that's not ideal at all. Yesterday, I had to send back 70+ pages of changes to our printer… ugh.

      Any ideas??

      I'm on Snow Leopard 10.6.7
