Cross References still point to original document

I created a 5.5 x 8.5 book name IDL with 314 pages. I need to bring the book price down by reducing the number of pages by increasing the page size to 6×9. So I made a copy of the book file and its documents and renamed them IDL6x9 and resized all the pages and margins. But my numerous Cross References still point to the Text Anchors in the original book files. Is there any way, other than updating each hyperlink destination, then deleting the Cross Reference, and creating a new one? I’m guessing there isn’t and I’ll have to format the original docs to 6×9.

A sanity check would be much appreciated. Thx.

This is a book file with multiple InDesign documents? Yeah, hyperlinks from one document to another is VERY clunky in InDesign. One of the many reasons I recommend people creating books in a single INDD file (and not use the book feature) when possible.
