      One thing I have found less-than-convenient when outputting print files with a bleed is that adding crop marks adds an odd measurement of extra space to the document. Typically, I like to have the document be 1/4″ bigger than the final size with the crop marks, so that I can then n-up the file to a particular page size and ensure that I am getting the most out of my print canvas. Currently, I have to export a print file, then trim the page down to the desired size (as I say, 1/4″ bigger than the file), then n-up for print. I’m wondering if there is a way to tell InDesign how much extra/white space it adds when adding the crop marks to a file upon output? I can live with it, but thought someone might know a trick??? Thanks.

      The default crop marks are .21 long, so your offset should be .04 to get a PDF that is .25 bigger on each size.

      That’s pretty close for most printers, but may work in your situation.

      Export->PDF->Marks and Bleeds->Marks->Offset

      Neeners
