Creating interactive PDF with open notes fields

I am creating an interactive PDF in InDesign CS6 (page transitions and hyperlinks) for a training class. In addition to the standard interactive features, I need to find a way to incorporate open text fields on each page (or at least in each section) so as the new hires are going through the training class, they have the ability to take/save notes within the PDF.

Surely this is possible, but I cannot figure out how and my research thus far has turned up nothing.

Any assistance would be immensely appreciated! THANK YOU!!

You can just make a text field in the Buttons panel, yes?

So I can leverage that form functionality without it actually having to be submitted somewhere as a form?

(Thank you for replying so quickly!)

Um. Well, it is a form field. If you have other form fields that get submitted, then these text fields would get submitted, too, I guess. But if it’s just a PDF with interactivity, then sure, you can have form fields and not give them any way to submit the form. Fun idea.
