Create Character Styles from Paragraph Style overrides

      Is it possible to turn a Paragraph Style override into a Character Style in some automatic way rather than manually creating the Character Style?
      Once I had a Character Style created, I could use search and replace to apply the new Character Style to every occurrence of text that had that particular override.
      Am I missing something? It seems like this is a safe way to get Paragraph overrides changed to Character Styles throughout a huge document.
