    I have an issue when transplanting copy from one of our files to another. The copy seems to shift and re-arrange, breaking and hyphenating at different locations in the destination file when compared to the original. As a result, it is affecting the presentation of the copy and creating visual blemishes on the page (i.e. a widow and empty lines at the bottom of neighboring columns). The preferences and styles in both documents are the same and i can only blame the Adobe Paragraph composer at this point. Can anyone shed some light on why this issue is happening? You can see a visual example of the issue at the bottom links. Please someone let me know what could be causing this issue!

    I have seen this. This can happen for a number of reasons, including:

    But sometimes it’s very mysterious. Try clicking inside the frame in the original document and doing something to cause text reflow (see https://creativepro.com/force-text-reflow-when-indesign-forgets-to-flow-the-text.php). Sometimes your old document is stuck in an old reflow state and doing this makes it reflow to the newest algorithm (which may or may not be what you want).
