I have a book that is currently in landscape format – two column text per page – some marginal notes in lieu of footnotes or endnotes. It has been self-published and is currently at the end of its second print run (nothing big here).
It has been suggested that it might be worth converting to an e-pub (Kindle, etc.) format. I have looked into that and the epub process seems doable. However, I also have a Kindle and don't think that two column format will be readable unless it remains in landscape format ( turn the Kindle on its side, so to speak).
What I would like to do is to convert the text into single column (without retyping it all), but structuring the output to remain in landscape format. This would allow me to keep the marginal notes as anchored frames, as well as the current landscape photos.
Retyping the marginal notes doesn't seem to be a chore, but all of the text is another matter. I did a search on the blog but didn't see anything in the thumbnail excerpts that seems to address the two-into-one column conversion.
Any and all suggestions welcome.
