    Hi Everyone. My name is Luca. I am a 5+ year designer and I am new to the pre press field and I have a recurring issue that pops up. I am hoping someone in this forum might help me. Ill get Indesign project files from clients that have like 80+ linked images/pdfs/eps etc that contain rgb objects and spot colors. I know i can export as a PDF as convert the destination color space to CMYK. However, sometimes the printer wants native files, is there a way to convert all these links to process within indesign in one fell swoop without having to open each link and make conversions in photoshop/illustrator? any insight will be much appreciated. thanks!!!

    Hi Luca,

    You can batch process the links from bridge. (Image Processor or Batch from Tools > Photoshop)

    Set up an action first if you want to use the Batch method.

    Sam, Thanks for the advice, Ive literally never opened bridge, HAHA, looks like i have some tutorials to watch, thanks again for the tip. I owe ya one.

    You’re welcome Luca, you can do this from Photoshop also – obviously only for the raster images but any action you make there can also be used in bridge.

    If the printer is requesting native files then I guess they want to handle pre-press processing or colour is very important in which case send them what you have with target proofs of what you are expecting reproduction wise and get any profiles from them to use in your workflow.
