Consistent space between frames?

Looking for a 'best practices' approach to maintain a fixed space between a photo frame and its cutline text frame beneath it. Pretty basic I know but I'm curious how others set this up. Visualize a basic page layout with running text and an occasional photo+cutline floating on the page. Ideally, I'd like photo and text frame to be flexible for resizing (width or height) if the layout changes and also use text wrap for the running copy to flow around it.

Looking forward to anyone's ideas on setting this up. Eyeballing it isn't working for me with an eagle-eye client.

I don't know if this is the best practice, but I take a text frame and snap it to photo frame and then I double click on black arrow tool (with text frame selected) and then I enter spcific value.

      Thank you Shone.

I guess my real question is how to maintain the spacing as items evolve during the layout process. I'd like to somehow link, join or attach the two frames so that they might be resized together as a unit. Grouping and ungrouping is tedious and I don't want the frames to be anchored in text.

Would you be apposed to Anchoring the Photo to the text frame. It might be easiet to set the spacing values up as an object style then when you would only have to copy and paste your photo with the “Anchored Photo” style in to its descriptive text. If you resize the photo the distance from the text will allways be the same. And if you click “prevent manual positioning” that will keep you from accidentally nudging or dragging the photo. although it would make the size a bit trickier to edit.

Also you could change all the spacing throughout the document. If in the future you want more space you would only need to edit the “Anchored Photo” object style.

Not sure if you are apposed to anchored objects in a whole or just don't want them in your larger text flow.
