    hello.

    I have a book document with 10 chapters. I created the index for each chapter with some formatting that is specific to the type of entry but is consistent across all chapters. All I did was override the specific entry style (in the index entry dialog box) and pointed them to the needed character styles.

    When I generate the overall index the formatting is not carried over, not sure why. I tried creating the index in a separate file with no luck. Then I tried opening all ten chapters, which brings all the index entries into the index panel, followed by generating the index and again all the style overrides are lost.

    It would be nice to preserve all the style overrides, I spent a lot of time ensuring all the formating to be carried across the chapters consistently just to see it not come together right at the very end. If anyone knows that I am doing something wrong by all means let me know. thanks in advance.
