      Hi,

I’m using CS6 and have a few images that aren’t appearing as they should when placed in Indesign. I have 2 instances, the first one is where an image originally had a spot colour which I have removed in channels in photoshop and flattened the image. It appears exactly how it should in photoshop and preview windows but when placed in Indesign it’s showing as if the yellow spot colour is there.

Second instance is a normal CMYK flattened image that has nothing done to it, except for the a size change and it is viewing different in photoshop then when in InDesign it’s darker and has a different colour tone.

These images have come from different clients overseas.

I’ve checked the obvious – Colour mode is CMYK in both Photoshop and Indesign. Is there something obvious I’m missing?

It is only happening with a handful of images in a 200 page magazine.

      Look forward to your replies.
      Thanks.

What are your preview settings in InDesign? High quality or normal? I believe normal is the default as high quality really slows down the computer if you have a lot of graphics in the job. Try changing to high quality.

What kind of files are the art? Tiffs, JPG, PSD?

How does the image look when you export as a PDF or print?

Thanks for the reply Dwyane. Preview settings were high quality (have tried changing it), PDF views incorrectly as InDesign and it prints the same also.
The first instance i was talking about with the spot colour being in the original file is a tif file but the others are jpegs, and as I said the jpegs I haven’t done a thing too.

      It’s got me stumped!

I have to admit I’m not an expert when it comes to graphics. Hopefully the pros will jump into this thread.
