I am trying to locate the InDesign Defaults folder/file on my Windows computer so I can follow the lessons in the InDesign CS5 Classroom in a book. It is nowhere to be found – no matter how or where I search. Is it possible they are not installed? InDesign seems to work but the defaults file is a mystery to me. If I remember rightly you can launch InDesign and press a few keys to reset but that is not what I need to do. Help!!

      Thanks, Gary.

Did you find it? I just searched all over the Internet, finally found instructions, and then realized that the next paragraph in the book explains where the file is and how to restore it.

“In Windows, the InDesign Defaults file is located in the Documents and SettingsUSERNAMEApplication DataAdobeInDesignVersion7.0en_US folder.”

“To restore the saved InDesign Defaults file after completing the lessons…locate your saved InDesign Defaults file, drag it back into its originalfolder, and replace the current [new] InDesign Defaults file.”

Hope this helps! Or maybe you already found your answer.

Whoops. This box doesn't allow backslashes. I'm going to guess you can figure out my message anyway.
