      Hi,
is there an possibility to change the color from an text in an textfield when a specific checkbox gets selected?
      For example, i have 4 checkboxes: [] checkbox1 [] checkbox2 [] checkbox3 [] checkbox4
when i select checkbox 2, the text “checkbox2” should change the color to red. In the best case the background should change the color also.
      Is there a possibility?
      Thanxs! :)

For the text there is the conditional text feature (https://indesignsecrets.com/finally-conditional-text.php)

Okay, thank you. With this feature it is possible to change the textcolor when the checkbox gets selected?
This should work in an finished PDF-form. When the user clicks the checkbox the color from the text should change.

Heimo: Yes, what you are describing is the “Normal On” selection in the Buttons and Forms panel. You select the checkbox button, then you can change the look of it for the “Off” state and the “On” state (or even the rollover and click states if you want). When you export to Interactive PDF, it should work.
However, the problem is that sometimes it doesn’t work… especially depending on the PDF reader. These often don’t work on mobile devices, for example. And even if it does work, sometimes the “look” gets covered up by Acrobat’s big blue box, so you cannot see that it is working!
There may be some help here:

      Hi David,
thanxs for the answer. Now i can change the look of the checkbox, but is it possible to change the look of the textfield next to the checkbox when the checkbox gets clicked? For example, i have this checkbox and text: [] 10 cm now i click the checkbox, and the look of the “10 cm” should change.

Heimo: Yes. Select the “on” state and make any changes you want. Then click the “off” state.
You should think of the “on” and “off” states as though they were different objects on the page. So when you choose “on” then InDesign hides the “off” state objects and shows the “on” state objects. You can change the text, the color, the effects… anything!

Ok, i understand. Now i tried this, i clicked “on”, but when i click on the textfield to change the color, the “button and form” (i translated this from the german version :D )dialog changes to the textfield. so how does this work? Sorry, i’m new in Indesign.
