I’ve got 2 paragraph styles for captions, one is a bulleted list with a camera icon that is dark and the other is the same thing, except the text and camera icon are white. I like to have my captions over top of the images rather than under / over / to the side, etc. So if the image is dark I apply the white caption style, and if the image is light I apply the dark caption style. This is fine if you’re manually inputting the caption information with text boxes that overlay the image. However, I’d like to auto-generate captions based on metadata criteria so I don’t have to spend a ton of time doing this manually.
Is there a way to automatically change the paragraph style (or apply a character style if that’s easier) if text is over a dark image? I can imagine setting up 2 object styles for images (1 dark image, 1 light image) and applying the text colour change based on the underlying object style.
Is this possible using GREP or another method?
Thanks,
