I am running Captivate 5.5 and InDesign CS 5.5. I have created a simple SWF using Captivate. I have placed it using the Media panel in a new InDesign document and set On Page Load and Poster: From Current Location. When I attempt to preview it in the Preview panel, all I see is a grey rectangle with rounded corners. The rectangle has a small icon in the upper left-hand corner that looks like a table row with three cells.

What am I doing wrong? Thanks for any assitance in solving this problem.

The preview panel shows you the SWF output – and SWFs placed in Indesign won't output to SWF and be playable – at least I can't it to work.

Apparently – SWFs placed in InDesign only work when they are exported to PDF. And to view the SWF preview in InDesign you need to use the Media Panel.

When I create a SWF in Flash Professional CS 5.5 and place it in InDesign with the same settings, it plays fine in the preview panel.
