Can you trust updates?

So I went straight from InDesign CS6 to InDesign CC 15.1.1. The latter isn’t even as good as CS6. I’m just so not impressed with CC. I keep being informed that there’s an update to CC 15.1.2 but I don’t know if I can trust it. I looked at the enormous list of bugs and fixes on the Adobe website and am fairly appalled, so haven’t updated for fear of things getting worse.
Yesterday I had an awful time proportionally enlarging an image because it wouldn’t – all that would enlarge was the frame. I restarted InD, nothing changed. I restarted my iMac (2019 running Mojave) and all was well. Sigh of relief!
So if I update are there going to be new, worse things? Will my plugins and scripts still work? Any information would be very gratefully received and I’m always so happy you’re here! :)

Yes, 15.1.2 is just a tiny bug-fix from 15.1.1… Should be no problem (and might even fix something for you).
The problem with scaling an image sounds pretty strange. Not sure why that would have happened.
By the way, there were dozens (perhaps hundreds) of bugs in CS6, too… you just rarely know about them. Same thing with the list of bugs that Adobe notes in the update. The majority of these don’t affect most users, so the first time you know about them is when you see Adobe stating they’re fixed.
There is no doubt that CC takes some getting used!! But it’s progress. Focus on the new things you can do. :-)

Thank you very much for your reply. I just expect a lot from something that I find so expensive! Not sure I’ve found anything new I can do – I’ve tried to find a list of differences between CS6 and CC 15.1.1 without any luck. However, as I do the same thing with books, books and books with both versions, perhaps I’ll never find anything new! I don’t think I ever read anything in IDM that was for long documents and I never do forms for PDF, or the same document in different languages, hyperlinks or anything. However, IDM is definitely my favourite magazine and I always enjoy reading it.
      Many thanks – again.

James Wamser has a wonderful document that show’s what’s new in each version. He has a PDF, but here it is as a Publish Online document (which, itself, is something only available in CC):

      Brilliant. Thank you so much.
      Keep safe and stay well.
