Is it possible to add embed codes to object frames. To be more specific I have videos in VIMEO and would like to use their embed codes to link a video into a FXL document. I’m trying to keep the document files size down by not adding the video file into the document. Do you know of a script or anything that is possible to make this happen?

I am interested in this too. I saw a Lynda.com video where a YouTube video was embedded but I cannot get it to work. In the place Video from URL box I have tried using the embed code from YouTube, just the url commencing with http: but I receive an error message, The video must be compliant with Flash Player. Use https:// for a video clip located on a web server. Use rtmp:// for a video clip located on a Flash Media Server of Flash Streaming service. Any suggestions/work arounds?

        Hi Jennifer,
Here is some information I received today from a ID professional, I have yet to give it a try, I hope it works.:-)

For FXL, I think the short answer is that it does work. I’ve taken the embed code from one of my Vimeo videos and then in InDesign chose Object > Insert HTML. This generates a preview of the video on the page and now you can export that file as an FXL. I do get an error during export, but when I open it in iBooks and ADE without a problem but I have to tell you that it doesn’t validate agains the IDPF. I’ve attached the sample that I created. Here’s an article that I found from Liz Castro about this topic but I didn’t have time to try it out. https://bit.ly/1sPQHpz
