I have a 200 page document with text and tables. It has 4 proof stages with changes to the text at each stage.

Is anyone aware of any indesign plugins or software that will compare the text in my latest version (proof 4) with the original indesign file (proof 1) and show tracked changes? I have a blacklining plugin but this only shows the differences from the last proof (proof 3).

I’ve tried converting the documents to word to create a compare file but I lose the formatting on the tables and it needs to be exactly as the indesign file.

I’ve also compared PDFs in Acrobat but Acrobat doesn’t show the tracking as I’d like it to.

      Any help would be appreciated.
      Thanks.

If the content is not sensitive, try an online compare tool like this: https://draftable.com/compare

Otherwise, this one is good too (https://www.inetsoftware.de/products/pdf-content-comparer) but doesn’t come for free and it’s for Windows (you’ll need Virtualbox, Parallels or another virtualization software to run it).
