    when i place this word file within a new document in indesign 5 (file, place…), all the text in the word file using 'cambria math' font disappears (equations, etc).
    can you provide me a solution to this problem?

    the word file was originally made in word 2010, then edited in word 2007 – could this be part of the problem?

    When I placed your word file, I got massage about missing fonts (of course I don't have them installed), but cambria math is not even there. In “find font” feature there should be all used fonts listed no matter if they are missing or not. But I don' see cambria math anywhere. I don't know, try copy-paste instead

    if you view the file in word 2007, then find text with font 'cambria math', you will see all the equations

    for example on page 2:

    b = [ 1 2 3]
