    Just checking… I feel like there’s a way to do this, but I’m lacking in creativity right now.

    I want to have a lot of callout boxes, to point at different spots on an imported image of a floorplan.

    (see image above) Is it possible to “anchor” the pointer line to the text box in some way, so that the square bulleted end can be moved/pointed in different directions, but the other end of the line stays fixed where it originates at the text box?

    I want the line and the box to be a single element, “grouped,” but not in a Command-G sense. Maybe a compound path? But with an easy to manipulate pointer.

    @Russell: I think that’s built in to InDesign. Select the path, and choose inside the Start or End popup menus inside the Stroke panel.

    David– not sure I worded that well… I know how to add the square end mark to a line… I want to know if its possible to have the other end of the line be “attached” somehow to the text box,
    but
    to easily be able to change where the other end points.
    The way the callout tool works in Acrobat.

    OH! Sorry, I did not understand. No, I don’t think you can do that. But what you can do is use the Direct Selection tool to drag the end you want to move. That would leave the other end of the line “anchored” in place.

    @russell-fabry. Did you ever find an efficient way to create callout boxes for floor plans? I have the exact same problem and I am finding creating them very time consuming.
