I am working on two projects at the moment, both have the same problem when exporting to pdf the button destinations are not exported. Well the results can be inconstant some can be and some are not. I have also noted that when I have named a destination the exported destination ( when ever they are exported) is termed Bookmark 1 or what ever the original default name for the book mark generated by inDesign and not my named destination.

When the Destinations are exported even with the incorrect name the link correctly to the differently named bookmark. As a test a remade the the links in the documents using only the default inDesign names. The result was no button destination exported at all.

I have a suspicion that, you have to get your Bookmarks and Destinations right first time in InDesign, as changing bookmarks and destinations can screw up the document. Even if you diligently correct all the setting on each button.

Fortunately it is a simple thing to rectify in Acrobat its just frustrating and laborious

There are an average of 18 pages in the document with approx 10 buttons a page, again this could just be too much for InDesign to handle.

      Anyone having similar problems?

Yes the Export is correct usually all the bookmarks work correctly, it the destinations, or linking to the bookmarks within the buttons that is flakey.

Mostly the buttons end up with links to mydocument.indd when they should have mydocument.indd + Named destination. In Acrobat

In InDesign the buttons are configured correctly Back in Acrobat some of the buttons that work have mydocument.indd + Bookmark1 which is odd as Bookmark 1 was renamed in indesign to Introduction. In acrobat there is no Bookmark labelled Bookmark1 only Introduction yet the button works. How relevant this is to the overall problem i do not know bur it demonstrates some strange inconstancies and that Indesign must be retaining and exporting information that we are not privy to which is not helpful when trying to trouble shoot a problem.
