    Greetings.

    I jumped through hoops to find a copy of an InDesign version that will run on my older Mac hardware. Not the easiest thing to do, especially because I wanted a new-old-stock copy that I could register, but I managed it.

    I’ve installed it. Now I have to patch it.

    So I visited the legacy updates page at https://supportdownloads.adobe.com/product.jsp?product=31&platform=Macintosh

    Great. All the updates are there.

    Except every single download link is broken.

    If anyone here has genuine copies of the updates for ID CS4 (6.0.1, 6.0.2, 6.0.3, 6.0.4, 6.0.5, and 6.0.6), I would be incredibly grateful for access.

    (Please don’t suggest that I upgrade to Creative Cloud. I can’t run it on my hardware and have no intention of renting my software.)

    The only place I can think of is… maybe ProDesignTools has them? They have a ton of stuff like that.

    I wish. I even trolled through the Adobe ftp server. Nada.

    I had just reinstalled AI and PS CS4 about a year ago, and downloaded/applied all the patches. What I find especially frustrating is that the downloads page remains online, the individual patch links work—it’s just the Download buttons that yield 404 errors.

    <sigh>

    And it turns out my tale of woe has a happy ending after all.

    Last night, I remembered that some years ago, I installed ID CS4 to access the trial version so I could access a document that I otherwise could not open.

    Turns out I not only patched the demo, I kept the patch files.

    Woohoo. Sometimes it works out.
