The following sounds like a very basic question, but I haven't found out the answer to it yet.

I have placed a MS Word document (Super Autoflow text flow), and so I have an InDesign document of a few dozen pages containing one large text frame. Some time later, I discover that at a certain point within this text frame, I should insert another text frame, linking it to the present one (before and after).

How do this? It is not a matter of unlinking text frames, but of breaking one text frame into two.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean, but maybe this will help: Let's say you have text frame A threaded to text frame C. You can add a new empty text frame B in between the two by clicking the out port of text frame A and then clicking on frame B. Now the story will thread from A to B to C.
