Boxes with Two-sided Strokes [newbie question]

      I’m a new InDesign user. This is probably a simple solution, but I can’t seem to figure out how to do it.

      I need to create some boxes stacked up inside of an existing box. The existing box has the stroke color set to “none.” I want to add the smaller boxes inside the larger one without conflicting with the “none” color on the larger box. I want the smaller boxes to have a thin line border on the top and bottom but not where the border overlaps with the larger box (right and left). How can I do this?

      You cannot change the stroke of a single side of a frame/box. You would have to use something else to make the top and bottom strokes. One idea is to use a table inside the frame, as you can set the stroke for each side of a table cell separately:
