      Hi everyone. I am working on an ePub in InDesign CC and want to create a table without any attributes (fill or stroke). The purpose of the table is to arrange 4 social media icons side by side. No matter what I do iBooks displays the table with a black stroke. What am I missing here?

      Thanks in advance for any insight on this issue.

      Hi Sean,

      You can crack open the InDesign generated EPUB in EPUB editor (Sigil is an open source EPUB editor)and look for idGeneratedStyles.css file.
      Here you will find this piece of code:
      td, th {
      border-style:solid;
      border-width:1px;
      }

      Change this to

      td, th {
      border-style:solid;
      border-width:0px;
      }

      Now, you will not get any default stroke on table cells. InDesign always generates this default value for border stroke and hence the issue.

      Regards,
      Pooja

        Thanks so much Pooja.

        I did crack into the ePub file to remove the stroke by editing the the css for the cell style that I created from indesign. I added – “border-style:none;” which did the trick. I was hoping there would be a way to have InDesign export css that would accomplish this. I am trying to create an InDesign Template for ePup export that my client can use someday. I have no problems cracking the files and editing the markup and css but my client is not that adventurous. Hopefully Adobe will address this in future revisions.

        Thanks again!
        Sean
