I create large manuals that are around 100 files. In those files are a number of placed indd files along with all the usual jpegs, etc. What I'm running into is some of the linked indd files are exporting to PDF at low-res. Somewhere along the line I found there is a 150 file open limitation for InDesign that may be my problem, but not sure. Have not seen this with my smaller books, under 350 pages total. Many of the same files are used in all the books and work fine in the smaller ones. The indd linked files typically show up raandomly in the second half of the PDF. I assume the the number of open files varies as the export progresses.

I'm on CS3 and Windows XP.

Anyone know if CS4 or 5 will allow more open files?

I have heard that CS5 has a number of improvements to the efficiency and speed of books, but have not tested it myself yet. I do not know about the 150 open document limit. Perhaps someone from Adobe will see this and provide some feedback.
