I have a PDF I need to print on the back of a magazine. This is the first time I have published this magazine and the first time I have sent something to a professional printer. I’ll ask the printer what they need, but I have a pdf full page ad that when I stretch to the bleed it loses some of its content. Is there anyway to do it where I just add more grass, trees and sky along the edges so I don’t have to lose potentially the mountain top? The mountain top is inside the border of the magazine, but the printer said be careful not to have text within 3/8 of an inch from the border of the magazine (the tip of the magazine is a little less than 2/8 inch from the border of the magazine). I appreciate your time and look forward to hearing from you.

The best way to do this would be to edit the original background image in Photoshop. The Content Aware Fill feature (or Content Aware Scale) may be able to help you extend the image to the size you need.
