I love using scripts but don’t like searching through the scripts panel to find the one I want. I used to use Blatner’s Tools Script Manager but I don’t think it’s compatible with CC.

Many apps have a “Script” icon in the their menu bar that will display the scripts available for that app.

Is there an alternative, easy access script manager available?

      Thanks.

Hi tabaholic: Actually I believe that feature in Blatner Tools works in CC… to get Blatner Tools for CC, you need “DTP Cloud” https://www.dtptools.com/product.asp?id=dcid

I don’t know of any other script menus for InDesign, but perhaps someone else can chime in with suggestions?

DTP website says Blatner Tools is only compatible up to CS6. When I try to run the installer, it says it can’t find Adobe Indesign. After I restarted Indesign CC, it appears the tools installed but the free (?) Script Manager menu of “Extra/Manage this menu” doesn’t display any scripts.

Maybe I am confused about how the DTP Cloud works but I do know that I don’t want to pay a subscription cost. The menu bar icon doesn’t show Blatner Tools as an option.

Yes, DTP Cloud is a subscription. So Blatner Tools for CC is only available for subscription. (Adobe changing to the subscription model for CC has made it very difficult for plug-in developers to offer their tools without a subscription, also. So a number of plug-in developers, such as DTP Tools and Teacup Software now offer their tools via subscription only.)

Hello, I have recently opened a CS6 InDesign document that previously worked on and now InDesign quits when I click on the page. The same thing happens when I start working on a new document, for example adding a picture box.

I have a message The document “name of document.indd” uses one or more plug-ins which are not currently available on your system. The missing plugin is Guides.InDesignPlugin

How do I get this plug-in and why has this just happening now?

      I would appreciate any help.

      Thank you

Robert: Wow, that doesn’t really have anything to do with this Forum thread, but: it sounds as though perhaps either your InDesign Preferences have become corrupted, or something has gone wrong with InDesign itself. I would suggest first quitting and relaunching InDesign, or restarting your computer. If that doesn’t work, try rebuilding your prefs (this post has a link to how to do that:https://creativepro.com/resources/faq )
and if that doesn’t work, then try uninstalling and re-installing InDesign.
