      Hi,

When creating a new Object Style you have the option to base it on [None], [Basic Graphics Frame], [Basic Text Frame] or [Basic Grid].

Can someone tell me what [Basic Grid] is? I cannot find anything int he local or online help that mentions this other than backwards compatibility with INX files!

      Thanks.

Wow – I don't know what the heck that is for. I downloaded the CS4 help PDF and searched it and Basic Grid is not covered. I read through Real World InDesign CS3 book that I have and it's not in that either. It's briefly mentioned in InDesign CS4 for Dummies, but not covered extensively, from what I can see from the Google Preview.

So I don't know what it's for. I've played around with it and can't find any logic to it whatsoever, I can put it in a style, and it stays there, then I create another object, then select the original object and edit the style and the Basic Grid is gone, not even a menu item?

I really look forward to finding out if anyone knows what is going on :D

      Baffling.
