Hi there. I am new with indesign. When I create a new document and set baseline to 12 points and draw a grid with 12 rows and 12 columns there is something mysterious. The horizontal grid lines does not match the lines of the baseline. The document is set in picas.

How are you drawing that grid? Is it a table? (Because table lines do not obey the baseline grid, only text does.)

It seems that text in a table will only align to a Baseline Grid (BG) that has an origin at the Page (as opposed to the Margin).
Text in a table will continue align to a BG set at a ‘page origin’ EVEN IF the BG is altered to be one with a ‘margin origin’ (and moves).
It’s just that text in the table now uses a BG (page origin) that is now invisible.

NOTE: You may get the impression of correct baseline alignment if a ‘margin origin’ BG starts on a top margin is a multiple of the BG.
