What do you use to balance multiple columns either threaded or not? Manually or have you found a tool or script that do that automaticly?

Does Teacup Software Typefitter Pro is the only solution available?

I usually use a baseline grid – I don't really need anything else. Or is this question about something else?

I think JC is looking for something that will automatically balance two or more columns, so they “justify” along their bottom edges. Is that correct? Yes, TypeFitter Pro should work. ColumnFlow from In-tools alongside their VJ plug-in is one candidate.

The Change Leading to Fit Text Frame button in Blatner Tools' Text Controls panel will do it, sort of, but in a brute-force method (just adjusts all leading across the story).

Depending on exactly how you want to balance the columns, AutoFlow Pro (using dynamic exansion of text frames) might also be a candidate.

I might be missing something here, but what about vertically justifying the text boxes? With a paragraph spacing limit of zero, would that take up any slack?
