I have put a wavy line around a text block which also has a tinted background. To my surprise, the tinted background did not conform to the wavy line but simply to the text block rectangle.

and here is a closeup of the corner: wavylines2

Is there any way I can make the background tint conform or is this just something I have to learn to live with?

I am using InD 5.5 on an iMac running OS X 10.8.2

The solution seems to be to copy/paste the frame into AI, edit, and reverse the process. Be careful with your selection after you paste into AI as there will be a bounding box as well as the wavy line.

      Thanks, Bob.

One of those slap-the-forehead moments — Why didn’t I think of that! I guess because I don’t need this all that often.
