I’m a proud Application Frame user! I’ll often “Tab” to hide all my Panels so I can see a large work area. But for the past couple years (can’t trace the source of when it began), whenever I hide all the Panels in this way with “Tab”, and I hover over the skinny bar to show them temporarily, they will pop out, but the majority of them are “masked” by my work area. As if there’s something making my work area “float” over the popped-out Panels. This is happening in CC 2015 and CC 2018 (macOS High Sierra 10.13). I was, until recently, still on OSX 10.10 and CC 2015 had this same problem then too.

I can’t tell if it has something to do with any number of Mac or InDesign plugins I use (Mac: Afloat, XtraFinder; InDesign: Rorohiko, APID Like Finds Like and Text Stitch, TypeFi Autofit…perhaps more I can’t remember). The natural thought was that Afloat was causing the problem. But even when I disabled it, my Panels still do this. I have screenshots to show the problem, not sure if I can attach them. Maybe this public Dropbox link? I’ll give that a try.

Thanks for any help you guys can lend.

This did not fix the problem.

Try a keyboard shortcut to hide and then unhide one of the panels, try CMD+T twice and see if it helps.

This also didn’t fix the problem. The single panel (Character) with Cmnd+T shows just fine as it actually “adds” the panel to the side bar temporarily and adjusts the width of my viewing/working window/frame (pasteboard viewer). Whereas the problem I’m facing is when I hover over the right edge of the screen, all my panels pop out but rather than adjusting the viewing window size, they just float/pop over it temporarily on top, then disappear when I remove my mouse from that edge. But when I do this, as in my original post: the panels “pop” out behind my working window.
