I have 4 questions to an Apple Books expert:

I am making a highly interactive eBook:
      – fixed layout
      – large file size, around 250 MB
      – I use InDesign to make 90% of the ebook
      – I add additional javascript functionality with a non-Apple epub software

1A) IMAGE and INDESIGN PROJECT SIZE FOR IPAD:
If I understand correctly, the images should be twice as big for retina iPads for sharper images. So instead of 1024×768, I should use 2048x1536px. But what I don’t understand is how big the InDesign project page should be, 1024x768px or 2048x1536px?

      1B) IS 2048×1536 A PROBLEM?
I already made most of the eBook in InDesign, with all pages sized at 2048×1536. (I should have asked all this earlier) It looks good and functions perfectly on my iPad. Question: is the 2048x1536px page size going to be an issue during Apple’s validation process?

      2A) – VALIDATION
I understand that I can use Mac apps to validate my epub. But I need to implement a tricky tweak in my eBook’s code manually. This tweak will repeat on 20 pages. Therefore I would like to test one chapter with Apple’s own validation mechanism before implementing in the entire book. It passed ePub Checker, but I want to see Apple’s own mechanism too. QUESTION: Can I upload one chapter to Apple for only a test validation? Which means that this test eBook should stay completely private, and ideally I would like to delete asap after the test validation.
      – Is this possible?
      – Is this straightforward or I need to do some tricky steps?
I want to avoid the test book to go public.

2B) WHERE TO DO APPLE’S OWN VALIDATION?
      – I am using non-Apple ebook authoring software and I never published any ebook.
—> Since I am not uploading from iBook Author, then how do I upload for test validation?

      Thank you!
