ANCHORING IMAGES…

Hi, am new to This forum. First, I’d like to thank Ann-Marie for the guidance her Lynda ePub tut gave me. Indispensable. It enabled me to get up and running very quickly, though I am have a few problems.

Re: images – smaller pics seem easily anchored when dragging the anchor to a character. But in my doc, I have full page illustrations (jpg) that occur in sets of 1, 2 or 3 consecutive pages. These are not co-operating. If I anchor them in Object Export, it doesn’t stick. When I anchor the initial page to an end character, it flies off the layout page upon “above line” designation, but shows up in my ADE preview sufficiently (blank pages usually follow where the page should follow each other). The subsequent full pages don’t work at all. I imagine there’s a setting I’m missing. How can I anchor or float these and have them appear in both my layout and previews.

Re: styles. I ran prep text script and since then, my styles have gone kablooey. I check the style options box and everything is good. But there are definite setting that are out of whack. For instance, style is set to 24pt. Type and it appears as 12pt. In both layout and preview.

There are over a 100 pages in this eBook.

Thanks for any input in advance. This is exciting.

Alright. Lemme put it another way – how do you anchor full page graphics so they seamlessly follow each other in consecutive pages? I don’t have a problem with one full page as I simply anchor it to the last character of previous page. But I am not having success when I try it with consecutive pages.

Should I create art that equals two pages? Doesn’t seem as if that solution would accommodate cross-ePub platforms.

None of tutorials seem to cover this.

I am new to ID, so excuse me if this seems like a dumb question.

      I’m on CC.

Alright. What I did was place the three pages in order of layout as they appear. Then I anchored each to the same spot, the last character on the preceding page. It seems to have worked. All pages are now where they should be without issue.

This worked in Kindle DX view (which is where this book will be initially launched). The new problem is Voyager has the formatting out of whack. None of the pics are proportioned and the numbered lists are irregular with numbers on their own lines.

I hope my discoveries will help.
